John and Pearl Interview
Tuesday 11 February 2014Hello everyone, so I had the privilege to interview Julie the designer of the amazing jewelries John and Pearl. Make sure to visit her great collections on her website http://www.johnandpearl.co.uk/ . Enjoy the reading.
- How did you start designing your own Jewelry collection ?
I set about creating an accessory label with a fresh and innovative approach to design and a strong emphasis on quality and originality.
- How would you describe your collection?
Every season I design my collections with a strong focus on innovative patterns and shapes. I design high quality fashion-forward pieces and construct the collection with a mixture of stand-out statement pieces and more wearable items for every day.
- Where do you get your inspiration from?
I draw inspiration from pattern making with my hands, graphic prints, the materials I work with and the boundaries I can push them to and new technologies and innovations in materials. I often begin research with colour palettes as colour is so central to my work.
I also draw inspiration from my customers and how they wear my jewellery. Today, the customer and designer are closer than ever with through social media. I love to see how my customers style my jewellery and it inspires me to see real women being 'the stylist'
- In average how much cost the Jewelries?
Our range starts from around £40 and goes up to about £250 per piece.
- Which materials are used to make the Jewelries?
Swarovski Crystals, Gold, Rose Gold and Gunmetal plated brass chains and Grosgrain Ribbons.
- Where is your shop located?
Our design studio is based in Brixton, South London. We do not have a shop you can visit, but our jewellery is available at www.johnandpearl.co.uk
